Our scheme is based in Armadale, WA. We currently have carers in Armadale, Brookdale, Mt Richon, Seville Grove, Oakford, Forrestdale, Orelia, Secret Harbour and South Lake.

Vacancies: we currently have limited vacancies for child care in Secret Harbour, Orelia, South Lake, Yangebup, Brookdale, Armadale and Mt Richon. Please phone us on 94974108 if you are looking for care for your child.

We would love to welcome more carers to our scheme, and are happy to speak with any carers or prospective carers in the Perth metro area or the rural areas surrounding Armadale.

Our fantastic group of carers provide home based child care for children from birth, attending kindy, pre-primary  and primary school. Care is available for children whose parents are working, studying, or non-working, and may be full time, part time, early mornings, evenings, overnight or weekends, depending on the needs of the parents, and availability of places.


Our Family Day Care carers enjoy operating their own business, in their own homes, with the support of scheme staff. They find the rewards they obtain from working with young children, and the fun they can have along the way, and of course earning an income while remaining at home, to be very beneficial to themselves and their families.

The scheme itself is a not-for-profit organisation, managed by a community based management committee. Our committee meets once a month for about 2 hours, to oversee the running of the scheme. As always, we would love to hear from any interested members of the community who would like to find out more, or even consider joining our dedicated team of  management committee members.

Scheme staff work hard to assist the carers to provide quality care to children. We take great pleasure in getting to know the children in care, as they come along to our playgroups, call in to the office, and on our support visits to the carers homes.

Scheme Philosophy
Lady Forrest Family Day Care Scheme aims to support carers within the scheme, to assist them in providing a high quality service to families in their local community. The individual needs of children will be respected in a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment.

The scheme values include:

• A commitment to quality outcomes for children in nurturing family environments, supporting the whole development of the child and building trust in the people who care for them.
• Aiming always to act with honesty and integrity, conducting family day care business in an ethical, professional manner.
• Being supportive of all stakeholders in the scheme - carers, children, families, management committee and staff.

Goals:

• Promote family day care as a valuable child care service to families in our community.
• Promote family day care as a viable and rewarding employment and career opportunity.
• Build a supportive network of carers and staff, each valuing and respecting the strengths and differences of individuals.
• Enhance existing skills and knowledge by providing and promoting a comprehensive program of training for carers.
• Encourage staff to seek opportunities to further develop their own knowledge.
• Seek and welcome feedback from all stakeholders with an aim to continually improve the services provided.
• Encouage parent particpation.

Inform and consult with all stakeholders in the scheme whenever change is to occur.
